…Oppressive Heat and Humidity Expected Friday through the Weekend…
An upper level ridge will expand into the Ohio Valley over the weekend…setting the stage for the most uncomfortable conditions of the summer so far beginning Friday and continuing through Sunday.
High temperatures are expected in the lower to middle 90s Friday through Sunday. Increasing humidity levels will produce heat indices that will peak between 100 and 110 degrees in the afternoon and early evenings all three days. A Heat Advisory will likely be needed for western portions of central Indiana Friday and over the entire area on Saturday.
During this upcoming heat wave, use caution if you must be outside for any length of time. Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning. Drink plenty of water to replenish lost fluids. And most importantly, never leave a child or a pet in a hot vehicle, even for a short period of time. Look Before You Lock!
